Krasnodar Territory will have 2.5 million tourists arriving annually in 2020, Governor Valeriy Gayevskiy said, RIA Novosti reports.
The number of tourists in the last six years has increased from 200,000 to 750,000. This year the region expects 850,000 tourists. 4.8% of them are foreign tourists, with 80% of foreign tourists coming from the CIS, the governor said.
Tourism provides 3.5% of the economy in Stavropol Territory. The region plans to increase this figure to 6%. There are 130 sanatoriums in Stavropol Territory, with 34 more under construction.
