Week of Azerbaijan in MGIMO

These days the Moscow State Institute of International Relations hosts the Week of Azerbaijan. The event, organized by the Azerbaijan Club of MGIMO was being prepared over two years and was made possible by support of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation in Russia.

The Week of Azerbaijan will last for five days, each dedicated to a particular topic. So, yesterday, the focus was right, the constitutional system and the state of the republic, since November 12th  is the Day of Constitution of Azerbaijan. Today is a day of history and foreign policy of Azerbaijan, a leading specialist of the National Academy of Sciences of Azerbaijan, Solmaz Tohidi made a speech and Philip Nobel, the great-grandson of Alfred Nobel spoke about the history of his family in Azerbaijan.

Azerbaijani MGIMO club was established in 2004 on the initiative of the Vice-President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation Leyla Aliyeva, at the moment  the Honorary Chairman of the club. Its main activities are  activities that introduce Russian students to Azerbaijani culture, history and cuisine.
