The terrorist attack was committed on 23 October 2002 at the Dubrovka Theatre. 40 militants broke into the hall where the popular musical Nord Ost was being performed. They captured 912 people, including women and children. Three days later the hall was assaulted – the terrorists were killed, the surviving hostages were set free. 130 hostages were killed. 10 years later people gathered to honour the memory of the victims.
