Azerbaijani Ambassador to Russia Polad Bulbulogly told Vestnik Kavkaza that Azerbaijan had given Russia 10 points at the Eurovision Song Contest, but the votes had disappeared for unknown reasons. Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev ordered the incident to be investigated.
The ambassador admitted that not only Russians, but Azerbaijanis too, were shocked by lack of votes for Russian singer Dina Garipova. Votes are being recounted. The Public Television will comment on the problem this evening.
"Our esteemed President Ilham Heydarovich Aliyev has given instructions to deal with this issue, and now the following picture has become clear: Azerbaijan voted for Russia, and there is a certain number of votes, but the fact is that all of these votes are counted in Germany, and from there they are presented as the final result, so to speak," the ambassador told.
