Russia and the United States in search of compromise on the Syrian issue

Press conference given by the Director of the Institute of USA and Canada Studies, Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Professor Sergei Rogov. The event was held after the meeting between Russian President Vladimir Putin and his U.S. counterpart Barack Obama, which was held within the G8 summit in Ireland on 17 June. During the press conference a commentary was given on the current state of relations between Russia and the U.S., the agreement reached at the meeting, as well as acute questions on the conflict in Syria.
