The speakers of the State Duma summed up the Spring Session and announced their plans for the Autumn Session. The Chairman of the Lower House of Parliament, Sergei Naryshkin, the first vice-speaker of the State Duma, Ivan Melnikov (CPRF) and Vice-Speaker Shvetsova ("United Russia") spoke about the future political discussions, the hottest legal topics and what legislative innovations are possible. On the agenda of the State Duma is the discussion of the amendments to the Constitution to unite the higher courts, the draft law on the Federal Assembly and the introduction of a mixed electoral system. Another item on the agenda is reform of the Russian Academy of Sciences, adoption of the bill on which the deputies completed this session.
