Chairman of the Committee for the Cossacks in Moscow Leonid Makurov commented on Cossack life in today's realities. The Russian Cossacks are going through a renaissance, and continue to gain momentum. More than three hundred thousand Muscovites consider themselves Cossacks and associate their lives as well as the lives of their loved ones with the Cossacks. Cossacks continue to maintain and preserve their traditions and their historical ways of life living in different regions of the Russian Federation.
