Deputy Chairman of the Federation Council Committee on Economic Policy, Sergei Shatirov, commented on the current state of Russian industry and explained the reasons for the current slowdown in economic growth. The expert also shared his views on the state of affairs in the energy industry. According to the Federal State Statistics Service, the volume of industrial production in Russia in the first 8 months of 2013 remained at the same level compared to the same period last year, when growth reached 3.1%. During 2012 the volume of industrial production in Russia increased by 2.6% compared to the results in 2011, when the growth of industrial production was registered at 4.7%.
