Rosstat: the highest birthrates in Dagestan, Chechnya and Ingushetia

“In 2007 Russia saw an unprecedented baby boom, but the main thing is to maintain the indices,” the head of the Department of Health and Population Statistics, Rosstat, Svetlana Nikitina, says.

According to Rosstat, the highest birthrates are in Dagestan, Chechnya, Ingushetia and the Republic of Tuva. The lowest cumulative rates are in the Central FD, Moscow and St. Petersburg.
