"Music Night" in Moscow

In Moscow, October 5, best local musicians will perform for free at various venues. From 16:00 to midnight and later in all areas of Moscow there will be "Music Night -- 2013". This action was initiated by the Department of Culture of Moscow and could become an annual event. "Music Night" is dedicated to the celebration of the International Day of Music, which, according to tradition, was celebrated on October 1. The action is carried out specifically at the weekend to attract the attention of the widest possible audiences. The music programs of various genres will be presented at 150 venues in Moscow . Among these areas there are music schools, cultural centers, concert halls. Head of the Department of Culture of Moscow Yelena Zelentsova said that the idea of "Music Night " arose by analogy with such popular urban festivals as "Museum Night "or "Biblio-Night". Saxophonist Igor Butman strongly supported the idea of "Music Night " stressing that many artists are willing to perform for free for those who for some reason cannot get to the central concert halls of the capital.
