Chairman of the Duma Committee for CIS Affairs, Eurasian Integration and Relations with Compatriots Leonid Slutsky reviewed the prospects of Eurasian integration, including basic forms of inter-parliamentary cooperation, the role of the parliamentary bodies of international organizations in the integration processes and mechanisms for the harmonization of legislation of the countries participants of integration.
L. Slutsky said that the work on the creation of the Eurasian economic space today is not easy, since there are plenty of topics for discussion. However, the treaty establishing the EEA will have to enter into force by January 1, 2015. Slutsky emphasized the important role of the Eurasian Union as "a bridge between the European and the Asian - Pacific Union".
