The exhibition titled “The Silver Legend of the Caucasus. Manaba Magomedova” opened in the Moscow State History Museum. It is devoted to the 85th anniversary of the birth of the famous native of the Dagestani village of Kubachi, Manaba Magomedova. Honored Artist and People’s Artist of Dagestan, Honored Artist of Russia and Georgia, Manaba Magomedova was the first and still the only woman who acquire the difficult art of silver and arms Kubachi skill. Today her works remain deposited in the best Russian and foreign museums and in private collections all over the world.
Jewelries, tableware, jewel-boxes, household things, ethnic musical instruments, and arms are presented at the exhibition, as well as Manaba’s creative workshop with her tools and sketches.
The exhibition of the famous artist's work was attended by prominent cultural activists, art critics, and artists.
The exhibition will run to February 19th, 2014.
