How did Putin become a leader of world conservatism?

According to studies of the Center of Strategic Communications, Vladimir Putin headed the conservative wing in the world in 2013. The authors of the report divided the Russian President’s activity into 4 regions: the Middle East, Southeast Asia, the EU and the USA, and the post-Soviet space – in all these regions he demonstrated adherence to traditional values, rationalism, and coherence of the position.
