The president of the Middle East Institute, Yevgeny Satanovsky, talks about the current situation in Syria. On 10 February 2014 the second round of the international peace conference on Syria, Geneva-2, will begin in Switzerland. Its first round ended without any significant results.
However, despite radical differences in positions, the parties are ready to continue the dialogue.
