Why is the film "Walking the Streets of Moscow" going to Venice?

Actor Evgeny Steblov and film critic, selector for MIFF and the Venice Film Festival, Peter Shepotinnik, tell why the film by Georgy Danelia "Walking the Streets of Moscow" will represent Russia at the 71st Venice Film Festival. The prestigious International Film Festival will be held from August 27 to September 6. The film, part of the golden fund of Russian cinema, half a century after its creation will compete for the prize in the section "Venetian classics." The film’s rivals will be restored masterpieces of world cinema. For the competition 18 full-length films and 3 short films by Roman Polanski, François Truffaut, Marco Bellokko, Robert Bresson, Anthony Mann and Giuliano Montaldo will be screened.
