Yuri Nabiyev: "The importance of the Kurdish issue is growing"

The president of the Russian Society for Solidarity and Cooperation with the Kurdish people, Yuri Nabiyev, talks about the Kurdish issue and Turkey's involvement in the war against Islamists in Syria and Iraq. The Turkish parliament has approved the decision to send Turkish troops to Syria and Iraq and conduct cross-border operations. With this decision Ankara joined the US-led coalition against the terrorist organization Islamic State. The parliamentary mandate also allows foreign troops to be placed on Turkish territories during the war against ISIS. In return, Ankara expects a safety zone to be created for refugees in the north of Syria. Damascus perceives this as an attempt by NATO member states to occupy a part of Syrian territory.
