The Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Philosophy of Moscow State University, Alexei Kozyrev, talks about the importance of humanism in the modern world, as well as the humanist ideals of the Western, Russian and Turkic (Azeri) cultures. Throughout the centuries, the western and eastern philosophies did not seek to understand each other, but rather to oppose one another. Today the Western and Eastern societies have their own particular systems of values.
