Askar Akayev, a senior scientist of the M.V. Lomonosov MSU, an ex-president of Kyrgyzstan, summed up the results of the G20 summit which took place in Brisbane on November 15-16th. He spoke about the role played by Russia in the organization. A G20 summit is a leading international forum which discusses problems of global economy and finances. It includes 19 countries (Argentina, Australia, Brazil, the UK, Germany, India, Indonesia, Italy, Canada, China, Mexico, the Republic of Korea, Russia, Saudi Arabia, the USA, Turkey, France, South Africa, and Japan) and the EU. 85% of the world GDP, 75% of trade turnover, 2/3 of the world's population belong to the countries of the G20.
