Stanislav Ivanov: "ISIS is becoming transnational organization"

Leading researcher of the Center for International Security IMEMO, senior researcher of the Institute of Oriental Studies, Stanislav Ivanov, talking about how to counteract ISIL, stressed that the international community should work together only to fight it. On February 12 the UN Security Council unanimously adopted a resolution proposed by Russia on the suppression of the income of the terrorists of Islamic State and other entities associated with Al-Qaeda, which indicates the willingness of the international community to work together in the face of a common threat. On February 17, Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi, in response to the killing by militants of Islamic State of 21 Egyptian Coptic Christian, said that there is a need to accept a UN Security Council resolution authorizing international intervention in Libya.
