Sergei Mikheyev about prospects of Caspian Cooperation

The director of the Caspian Cooperation Institute, Sergei Mikheyev, spoke about the prospects of cooperation between the five Caspian states on a wide range of areas and on deepening economic cooperation. According to the expert, the Caspian countries need to rely not only on the sale of hydrocarbons, but also on innovation and technological improvement. On March 5, 2015 Baku will host a meeting of the Special Working Group on the issues of the Caspian Sea, where the development of a draft agreement on economic cooperation between the Caspian states will be discussed, the initiative of the president of Turkmenistan to create the Caspian Economic Forum, acting on the ongoing basis will be discussed, as well as the draft Agreement on cooperation in the field of transport on the Caspian Sea.
