Ambitions of the EU in Central Asia greatly overstated, says Dmitry Alexandrov

Dmitry Alexandrov, head of the Section for Central Asian Studies of the Center of Studies of the Neighboring Countries of the Russian Institute of Strategic Studies spoke on what kind of policy the European Union is pursuing in Central Asia and underlined that the EU's ambitions in this region are too overstated. In May 2015, the next summit of the "Eastern Partnership" is to take place in Riga. The main aim of the initiative is active strengthening of relations among the EU and its eastern neighbors.
