Deputy Director, the head of studies of neighboring countries of the Russian Institute of Strategic Studies, Tamara Guzenkova, spoke on the policy of the European Union on the post-Soviet territories. In May 2015, the next Eastern Partnership summit is to take place in Riga. The main aim of the initiative is active strengthening of relations among the EU and its eastern neighbors: Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Moldova and Ukraine. For the latter, the too insistent cohesion policy of the EU was the reason for the crisis that led to its extreme forms of opposition inside the country.
