Arthur Atayev on EU policy in the South Caucasus

The head of the section for Caucasus research of the research center of problems of neighboring countries of the RISS, Arthur Atayev, spoke about the policy the EU is currently carrying out in relation to the South Caucasus countries. In May 2015, another summit of the "Eastern Partnership" will be held in Riga. The main objective of the initiative is the active strengthening of relations between the EU and its eastern neighbors: Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Moldova and Ukraine. For the latter, EU’s over-insistent policy of rapprochement became the cause of the crisis ignited in extreme forms of confrontation within the country.
