Georgia and the US should begin building relations from scratch, Georgian President Mikheil Kavelashvili said during his meeting with US President Donald Trump on the sidelines of the 80th session of the UN General Assembly.
"I told him that it is time for our relations to start from a clean slate. He repeated that he would take care of this issue and promised to return to it and contact me. We will await his response",
Mikheil Kavelashvili said.
The Georgian President also noted that he had met with US Secretary of Commerce Howard Lutnick in New York.
It should be noted that this is not the first time Tbilisi has proposed a reset in relations with Washington. Kavelashvili and Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze had previously sent open letters to Trump with a similar proposal.
