Georgy Fedorov: "Before cutting benefits for ordinary citizens, officials must start with themselves"

A Member of the Public Chamber of the Russian Federation, Georgy Fedorov, talking about how the social policy of the state will be formed, and where to get the funds to support the unprotected layers of the population, drew attention to the fact that cutting benefits in regions often occurs without extensive discussion, and pointed out that before cutting benefits for ordinary citizens, officials should start with themselves. Due to the difficult economic situation, local authorities are thinking about reducing regional benefits. A number of subjects have cancelled transportation benefits for pensioners and students, while a reduction of benefits for the overhaul and the introduction of a compulsory payment of land tax for all categories of Russians is being discussed.
