Chairman of the Soviet Preparatory Committee of the 12th World Festival of Youth and Students in Moscow, Viktor Mishin, and chairman of the National Council of Youth and Children's Organizations of Russia, Grigory Petushkov, spoke about the history of the World Youth and Students Festival and its meaning. On February 7th, the World Federation of Democratic Youth and a number of large international student organizations supported the initiative to hold the 19th World Festival of Youth and Students in Russia in 2017.
