Haaretz published an article headlined 'With each strike, Israel both pressures Assad to respond and risks a blunder'.
"According to foreign media reports, Israel's recent attacks went well. But what will happen next time there's intelligence information about attempted weapons transfers to Lebanon? One must assume there will be a next time, because neither Iran nor Hezbollah wants to see those advanced weapons in rebel hands," the author of the article, Amos Harel, writes.
Harel believes that if Assad does not respond to the attack, he will look weak.
The author also thinks that the air strike was discussed with the US administration beforehand and that this attack is a part of some large-scale scheme.
