The Russian newspaper Nezavisimaya Gazeta has published an article devoted to the coming presidential elections in Azerbaijan and Georgia. According to the author of the article, the results of these polls probably won't be a surprise.
Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev will probably be re-elected, as he is truly the most influential politician in the country, the article reads.
In Georgia the candidate from the former ruling party will inevitably fail to win the race, which means that all the major political instituations in the country will be loyal to Moscow.
This doesn't mean, however, that the Georgian authorities won't be pursuing their national interests, the author believes.
