"Diplomatic Troops" visit diplomats' memorials

Today future diplomats visited war memorials located at the Novodevichy Cemetery. About 70 people from various educational institutions came to pay tribute to the memory of heroes in the framework of historical and patriotic action "Diplomatic Troops", organized at the initiative of the Diplomatic Academy of the Russian Foreign Ministry.

"We're trying to work with young people to honor the memory of our heroes, great ambassadors, diplomats. On the eve of the great Victory Day, we gathered undergraduate and graduate students and came here, to the Novodevichy Cemetery, to clean up the graves of great people, especially those who had direct relationship to diplomatic art, to protection of national interests of our country,” acting rector of the Diplomatic Academy of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Mikhail Troyansky, told Vestnik Kavkaza. It's no coincidence that we're near the monument of the greatest diplomat, whose centenary we celebrate this year - Andrei Andreyevich Gromyko. Students came here with great pleasure. We can see that the spirit of mentoring that we used to be proud of is still alive."

The event was attended by students of the Diplomatic Academy and MGIMO, students of the college and secondary boarding school of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Moscow Diplomatic Cadet Corps and others. Later they laid flowers at the tomb of the Unknown Soldier in Alexander Garden.
