International Business Times: «USA fear that Greece will quit NATO"

The Business Insider analytical magazine wrote about the triumphant return of Russia. While global financial markets nervously react to any news from Greece, Russia keeps quiet. The Greek default and exit from the eurozone is unlikely to cause great damage to the Russian economy, but is likely to open up new opportunities for the state. The Russian gas giant Gazprom is already involved in a strategic alliance with the Western company Royal Dutch, the purpose of which is to expand joint operations for the extraction of liquefied natural gas on Sakhalin.

In addition, Gazprom, together with Shell, is going to build two new gas pipelines to Germany through the Baltic Sea in the framework of the project Nord Stream project, which will provide Europe with energy sources for the upcoming decades. Despite the sanctions, Russia has managed to establish relations with Asia, increased sales to China, Japan and South Korea up to 25%, surpassing Saudi Arabia, Kuwait and Qatar. However, despite the competition between Russia and Saudi Arabia, the two countries have signed an agreement on cooperation in nuclear energy.

Russia's economic performance after the recent crisis is very high, and the ruble has been one of the most stable currencies in the world in the last few months. Competent internal politics and the emergence of new partnerships have enabled the government to take a leading position in the global economy, despite all the efforts being taken by the West to weaken the country.

The US publication International Business Times wrote today that NATO is using the Greek crisis as an excuse for further aggression against Russia. Following the historic referendum in Greece, Russian President Vladimir Putin has contacted the Greek Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras, in order to express support for the Greek people, which in turn has greatly strengthened the relations between the two countries. However, Western leaders have not missed the opportunity to accuse Moscow of applying a policy of "divide and rule, aimed at undermining the EU and NATO."

The fact is that Greece is a NATO member, and the United States is worried that the country might withdraw from the alliance, which would set a precedent for other countries that disagree with US foreign policy. In addition, if Russia becomes a strategic partner of Greece, then the US will have to dismantle the NATO naval base on the island of Crete, thus losing influence in the Mediterranean.

However, criticism of NATO and the EU is unlikely to change the foreign policy of Russia or Greece. Both countries have decided to cooperate and to overcome internal problems together, which will certainly be painful for the European Union, which cannot develop a common foreign or internal policy, and the United States, the imperialist plans of which are becoming increasingly doomed to failure.

The Washington Post wrote that world leaders cannot agree on the Iranian nuclear program. The terms of signing the agreement have been extended for another week. However, according to analysts, the parties are coming closer to resolving the Iranian nuclear issue, despite the fact that three main issues remain unresolved: sanctions, imposition of the resolution, and the unwillingness of Iran to abandon its nuclear potential, which is exclusively peaceful in nature.

At the conclusion of the agreement, the US Congress will consider the document within 60 days, which again gives Iran a reason to worry. In any case, the US Congress does not have sufficient authority to veto the decision of Obama, who intends to acquire a friend in the Middle East in the face of Iran. The search for a compromise convenient for both countries has been delayed, the deadline for the final signing of the agreement has been transferred permanently, and it is obvious that in the near future Iran and the United States cannot expect any changes.
