Joint Russian-Chinese University welcomes students

The joint Russian-Chinese University, created at the base of Lomonosov Moscow State University in the city of Shenzhen, will open its doors for students of all countries in September. The organizers of the university were also the Beijing University of Technology and the Shenzhen Municipal People's Government. The key objective of the project, supported by the leaders of Russia and China, is the preparation of 'trilingual' (Russian, Chinese and English) young specialists on the basis of the most demanded and modern educational programs of the Moscow State University, who will be able to make a worthy contribution to the development of the economy of the Eurasian and Asian-Pacific regions, within the project of the leaders of Russia and China - the EEU and the Silk Road Economic Belt.

Education in the joint university will be carried out in 12 directions on the basis of educational programs of the Moscow State University and mainly by the professors of the Moscow State University. The portfolio of educational programs of the joint university includes 'Geology, Ecology, Natural Resources and Energy'; 'Information technology and applied mathematics'; 'Physics and Chemistry', 'Transport systems and logistics' and 'Public health (medicine)'. Confirmation of the professional qualifications of the graduates will be two diplomas: the diploma of Moscow State University and the diploma of the joint university.

According to the rector of Moscow State University Viktor Sadovnichy, "the leadership of the People's Republic of China is interested in training of personnel. A building is being built in Shenzhen, a copy of the skyscraper on the Lenin Hills. It will be a miraculous university. We have coordinated its parameters, its structure. The project is managed by the board of directors, the rector is appointed by the Moscow University.  Several master's programs are already opened for admission. At the moment we are accepting applications for a baccalaureate degree. The number of enrolled students during July and early August will be 250-300. The lessons will be held in Russian, master programs - in English, partially in Chinese. The competition is high, more than 5 applicants per vacancy for bachelor's degree courses".

Viktor Sadovnichy added: "The Chinese comrades really want our students to study at the university. There are already first statements. But I appeal to everyone entering  the Moscow University and entering our branches in Astana, Tashkent, Dushanbe, Baku, Yerevan, there is an opportunity to apply for admission to a joint university, because the infrastructure is not limited there. On September 6-7, we plan to arrive in Shenzhen, apparently as part of a high delegation. We will cut the ribbon in this joint university and classes will start".
