Today is the 24th anniversary of the Garadaghli massacre. Armenian armed units, backed by the 366th regiment deployed in Khankendi, launched an attack on the Azerbaijani village of Garadaghli on February 15th 1992. After two-day fierce battles, Armenians occupied the village on February 17.
Garadaghli was completely destroyed during the occupation. Nearly 80 of 117 villagers taken hostage were killed, 6 went missing. 43 Azerbaijani hostages were shot in Khankendi.
The village of Garadaghli is still under occupation.
