Over 800 natives of Dagestan are fighting in Syria and Iraq, the head of the Republic of Dagestan, Ramazan Abdulatipov, said, speaking before the deputies of the National Assembly of the republic.
"Our important task today is to strongly oppose the participation of residents of the republic in the international terrorist organizations in the Middle East. The Dagestani position in respect of the apostates is clear: they are traitors and enemies of the motherland - Dagestan and Russia," Abdulatipov stressed.
He also urged local authorities to announce the names of the terrorists and their relatives.
