An acid tank exploded in one of the chemical factories in the Istanbul district of Arnavütköy this morning.
The factory and citizens living within a 500 square meter radius were evacuated.
Teams of Turkey’s Disaster and Emergency Management Agency and the country’s largest natural gas distributor, İGDAŞ, were dispatched to the scene, Yeni Safak reported.
According to the reports, no one was hurt as a result of the explosion.
The cause of the explosion is unknown and work is underway to extinguish the fire. Other details of the incident are not reported.
