 Ali Akbar Velayati arrives in Moscow

The assistant of Iranian spiritual leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei on international affairs, Ali Akbar Velayati, has arrived in Moscow to discuss regional issues and bilateral ties with senior Russian officials.

He arrived in Moscow at the invitation of the head of the Russian Institute of Strategic Studies, the press service of the Embassy of the Islamic Republic in Russia said.

Velayati said that the "ties between the Islamic Republic of Iran and Russia have culminated to an unprecedented degree" and are now actively expanding "in various fields, including nuclear, defense and, in particular, regional cooperation," for example, the formation of a "coalition between Iran, Russia, Iraq and Syria".
