Andrzej Duda criticizes Germany for supporting 'Nord Stream'

President of Poland Andrzej Duda has criticized the leadership of Germany for ita support of the Russian pipeline projects of the 'Nord Stream' series.

"We strive to have good relations with all of our neighbors, in particular with Germany, but partnership between neighboring countries for me means, first of all, respect for traditions, customs, values and interests. A good example of the problems in the relations between us are 'Nord Stream' and 'Nord Stream 2'. We are against these investments, which contradict our interests, and the interests of Ukraine, Slovakia, and so on," he stated at the 52nd Munich Security Conference.

As the head of the European bureau of Vestnik Kavkaza, Orhan Sattarov reported, Duda connected the Russian construction of pipelines with European politics.

The chairman of the European parliament, Martin Schulz, answered Andrzej Duda. "Now we are talking not only about 'Nord Stream'. If we did more for energy security, then there would be no such problems today. Regarding 'Nord Stream', I can remind you that we once talked about the need to create an energy alliance at the EU level, but, as it turned out, it affects Polish coal mines in Silesia," he reminded.
