Specialists from China warn the population about the spread of a dangerous SFTS virus, which may be lethal, the Chinese newspaper Global Times informs.
"Doctors believe that this virus is transmitted mainly through insect bites ... Over the first six months of the year, more than 60 people were infected in China, seven of them died," the newspaper quotes the doctors as saying.
According to Chinese virologist Sheng Jifang, who works at the hospital at Zhejiang University, the possibility of human-to-human transmission of the virus cannot be ruled out.
