The conflict in Syria hasn't been resolved yet because the West is trying to change the leadership of the country, Syrian President Bashar al-Assad said.
He explained that Syria's conflict could be over in less than a year if the world community took measures to prevent the flood of foreign fighters to the terrorist organizations. "None of them, only Russia and Iran and their allies, and the other countries that support the Syrian government politically... but not the West, no one in the West is ready," TASS cited him as saying.
Moreover, according to Assad, the West is still supporting the terrorists on a daily basis to achieve its main goal – changing the leadership of the country.
"I was packing my luggage, I had to leave, but now I can stay," the Syrian president said.
