 Astana and Kiev sign aviation cooperation deal

Kazakhstan Aviation Industry LPP, a subsidiary of the Kazakhstan Engineering JSC, and the Ukrspetsexport company for exporting and importing products and services for military and special purposes, have signed a cooperation agreement, the press service of the Kazakh Defense Ministry stated.

Kazakh-Ukrainian cooperation in the aviation field will cover several areas, in particular, it is planned to organize a service center for maintaining and repairing Antonov aircraft at the Aviation and Technology Center in Astana. In addition, the agreement provides for the replacement of engines and modernization of AN-2 and AN-2-100 planes as well as the industrial assembly of MS-14 turbo-propeller engines for their installation in the modernized planes. 

The sides agreed to start joint development and production of unmanned aerial vehicles, supply, repair and technical maintenance of aviation simulators, RIA Novosti reports.
