The head of Kyrgyzstan, Almazbek Atambayev, said that he will not appoint a successor after the completion of his term.
"I will not carry out an operation for a 'successor'. As many young politicians as possible had to show themselves for two and a half years. I also do not see myself nor the Prime Minister nor the speaker in the future. My goal is to put the country on a sustainable path. And I think I should do it for two and a half years," he said. "I thought of becoming a writer, or by someone else. And, above all, I want finally to relax and sleep," the politician confessed.
According to the President, "people should choose their ruler themselves". "We have great people and they will choose a decent man. Our principle is that it should be a decent, honest man. He does not steal, but works for the country, he doesn't divide people by ethnicity," RIA Novosti cited him as saying.
Almazbek Atambayev was elected President of Kyrgyzstan on October 30, 2011.
