Azerbaijan and Turkey agree to cooperate on space satellites

Azerbaijan and Turkey will cooperate in building micro- and nano-satellites and telecommunication systems of a new generation. A document was signed between Azercosmos JSC of Azerbaijani Ministry of Communications and High Technologies, Turkey’s Space Technologies Research Institute and Science Development Foundation under the president of Azerbaijan. It envisages cooperation in conducting research in the spheres of space and astronomy, as well as in studying the Earth's surface.

The sides have already reached several agreements on the organization of joint events dedicated to the use of satellites, conferences, symposia and seminars.

It is expected that the use of Azerbaijan’s low-orbit satellite resources will enable joint projects to be implemented in the sphere of agriculture, Trend reports.
