A delegation headed by the Commander of the Land Forces of the Oklahoma Army National Guard, Brigadier General Smith Hopper, held a series of meetings in Azerbaijan.
The expansion of military ties between Azerbaijan and the United States, strengthening of cooperation in regional security, prospects for bilateral exchange of experience, coordination of joint action with the US and NATO were discussed at the meeting.
The US delegation, accompanied by the Commander of the Air Forces of Azerbaijan, Deputy Minister of Defense, Lieutenant-General Ramiz Tairov, visited the Air Force Base, got acquainted with the staff and specifics of combat duty, the command post, military air assets, inspected social conditions created for the personnel of the air base, the press service of the Defense Ministry of Azerbaijan said.
The US military also visited the Main Clinical Hospital of the Armed Forces of Azerbaijan and the Azerbaijan Museum of Military History, Trend reports.
