Azerbaijan has decided not to take part in the technical meeting of experts from OPEC and non-OPEC countries in Vienna, although it has been invited, the country’s Energy Minister Natig Aliyev said.
"Many countries, including Azerbaijan, are not ready to reduce oil production. I would like to note that the oil produced in Azerbaijan belongs to the consortium – therefore, decisions on production are not taken individually," abc.az cited Aliyev as saying.
At the same time, the Minister noted that if OPEC adopted such a decision, oil prices would be higher and this would be beneficial for Azerbaijan as well, adding that world oil prices mostly depend on Saudi Arabia.
