The prosecutor’s office of Azerbaijan’s Fizuli district has initiated a criminal case over Armenia’s provocative actions on the contact line between Azerbaijani and Armenian troops, as a result of which civilians were killed and injured, the Azerbaijani Prosecutor General’s Office said.
On July 4, the Armenian armed forces again violated ceasefire and, using 82-mm and 120-mm mortars and grenade launchers, shelled Azerbaijani positions and territories where the civilian population lives, namely the Alkhanli village of the country’s Fuzuli district, thereby grossly violating the requirements of international law.
Alkhanli village residents Sahiba Allahverdiyeva (born in 1966) and her granddaughter Zahra Guliyeva (born in 2016) were killed and another civilian Salminaz Guliyeva (born in 1965) was hospitalized with serious bodily injuries.
Fuzuli District Prosecutor’s Office initiated a criminal case into the facts under the seven Articles of the Criminal Code and investigation is underway.
