Azerbaijan is known as the pearl of the Caspian in Indonesia, the Ambassador of the Republic of Indonesia to Azerbaijan Dr. Husnan Bey Fananie said at a press conference.
"We love Azerbaijan very much, but it is of great significance for me," the correspondent of Vestnik Kavkaz cited him as saying.
The diplomat shared his childhood memories with journalists. "My mother always read excerpts from the poem Layla and Majnun before going to bed. When I came to Baku and discovered the works of Nizami Ganjavi, I realized that it was that poem and what the culture of what people left an indelible mark in my life," the ambassador said.
"After all, Layla and Majnun is not just a beautiful love story, it's a poem that enriched the whole world culture. I have been impressed to find that Azerbaijan is a country of Layla and Majnun. That's why I love your country very much, I really mean it," Husnan Bey Fananie concluded.
