Azerbaijan's national team: we ready for Artistic Gymnastics World Cup in Baku

Azerbaijan's national team is ready for the FIG Artistic Gymnastics Individual Apparatus World Cup in Baku, the senior coach of the national team Nina Pravdina and gymnast Yulia Inshina said, speaking with the correspondents of Vestnik Kavkaza.

"We expect to advance to the Cup finals and are going to do everything we can. Our girls in a good mood, although these competitions will be tough, since it is the first tournament for a long time and the opening of the year," Nina Pravdina said.

Julia Inshina agreed with her. " We are in a fighting mood, as usual. I hope that we will nail it. The whole of our team strives for it," the gymnast assured.

Azerbaijan's national team sees the athletes from Romania, China and Greece as main rival. "The Australian women's national artistic gymnastics team is also strong, we watched their training today. Of course, Oksana Chusovitina from Uzbekistan is a serious rival. In general, the Baku World Cup stage is very strong, it will be held at the high level. The competition will be tough, but we will fight," Nina Pravdina said.

The same opinion is shared by Julia Inshina. "There are a lot of rivals in this year's World Cup in Baku, starting with very strong ones - China, Romania, Greece. In addition to them, there will also be a lot of worthy gymnasts participating in the tournament, so this Cup will be quite complicated and interesting," the athlete noted.

According to Nina Pravdina, Azerbaijan has the greatest chances to finals and medals in the floor exercises, vault and the balance beam exercises.

The FIG Artistic Gymnastics Individual Apparatus World Cup will be held in Baku on March 16-19. Athletes from 23 countries will compete for 10 medal sets.
