The settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict is possible only on the basis of respect for the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan, the Azerbaijani Deputy Foreign Minister Khalaf Khalafov said at the Conference on Interaction and Confidence Building Measures in Asia (CICA).
"The conflict can be settled only on the basis of respect of the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Azerbaijan within its internationally recognized borders. In this context, Azerbaijan remains committed to the peaceful settlement of the conflict," RIA Novosti cited him as saying.
"The international community has to insist on strict observance of international law and implementation of the UN Security Council's resolutions," the diplomat said, adding that the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict is a threat to international peace and security.
According to Khalaf Khalafov, Azerbaijan counts on the support of CICA member states in resolving the conflict.
