Baku court revokes license of ANS media company

Baku Court of Appeal revoked the license of Azerbaijan’s ANS Independent Broadcasting Media Company today.
 
Baku Court of Appeal considered the lawsuit of Azerbaijan’s National Television and Radio Council on suspending the operation (canceling the license) of ANS Independent Broadcasting Media Company.
 
During the court session it was decided to cancel the license of ANS Independent Broadcasting Media Company.  
 
The company has the right to file a cassation appeal to the Supreme Court.
 
The Council adopted a decision to suspend the broadcasting of ANS from July 18 for a period of one month and to file a lawsuit to the court for withdrawing its license dated October 25, 2013.
