An earthquake measuring 4.8 points on the Richter scale was recorded at 00:39 local time in Kazakhstan 716 km north-east from Almaty, the Committee for Emergency Situations of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Kazakhstan said.
The epicenter of the earthquake was located at a depth of 15 kilometers beneath the Lake Balkhash.
