Bortnikov: almost 5000 people sentenced for terrorism-related crimes in Russia

Director of the Russian Federal Security Service, Alexander Bortnikov, said that almost 5500 people have been sentenced for committing terrorism-related crimes in Russia since 2006.

"Since 2006, as many as 5475 people have been convicted for terrorism-related crimes. As many as 2143 gunmen have been neutralized," RIA Novosti cited him as saying.

He noted that since January 2010, a total of 3796 persons have been detained for involvement in high-profile terrorism-related crimes. The latest example is participant of  the terrorist attack in Budennovsk in 1995.
